07 - 07 - 07

I just wanted a post on the 7th of the 7th of 07. No real reason, other than a post with this many 7s in it must be a lucky one. Perhaps that is why they are having Live Earth across the globe this weekend.

And as The Pixies would say 'If the devil is 6, if they devil is 6, THEN GOD IS 7, THEN GOD IS 7!' But The Pixies are a tad nuts, although they are quite accurate - the number for god usually being taken to be 7 or 777.

Myself I'm an atheist, but I quite like the idea of having a religion or belief in god. It must be comforting, as you are never really ever alone - God being everywhere. Even in your sock drawer.

I certainly don't care if other people believe in whatever they like. Alan Moore - he knows the score - worships a Roman snake god deity - Glycon and I love his work as a writer for graphic novels - comics. So much so that I have no idea why I have not listed his official website as one of interest already. I am going to do that now. Anyway the snake is also symbolically powerful and predates Christian mythology, particularly in terms of it being usually considered a symbol of deceit or of knowledge. So in terms of symbols to worship - believe in - as representing a higher power the snake is not a bad one.

I forgot about the three seven thing today, Ed. Thanks for reminding me. Well there are two great things for me today: the postman delivered a shipment of the print version of Return to Winter and I'm thrilled with the results! And tonight, I'm off to see Rod Steward in concert!

Hope it has turned out to be a great three sevens day for you today!

I'm a tad disturbed by the idea of jebus being ALL seeing, ALL knowing. Like what about when one is err...well...self pleasuring? Does he see that too? And if so, I can understand why he smites me so much!!

Lynette: Hope you had an ace time at concert. Glad to hear about your book arriving - that would be very exciting! I had a good triple-seven day! Hope you did too.

Steph: LOL Umm...err...I'm sure that jebus would be happy about people feeling them... being happy. Wouldn't they? Jebus I mean. Unless they are a Catholic jebus... Then there might be smiting! You are not a Catholic are you? Hope you are good.
